Carol, a professional tax advisor living in Panama, spent one month in Michigan last year, immersing herself in MLC’s in-person classes. “I had a one-month vacation and decided to study at MLC while I spent my time in Michigan,” she said.
With extensive experience in the international tax field, Carol currently serves as Transfer Pricing Senior Manager at a renowned accounting firm. “At my work, I usually have meetings with clients who are not from Panama, and we use English as a primary language to communicate with them. I wanted to further improve my English language skills.”
Despite her established success, she is deeply passionate about enhancing her professional skills, particularly her language proficiency. Prior to MLC, Carol also spent a month each in New York City and Boston to study at language schools. “I always wanted to improve my English for my career, and compared to other language institutes, I found MLC to be one of the best.”
“During my time in Michigan, I greatly enjoyed MLC’s classes and decided to enroll in their online Professional English Class after returning to Panama. The online class is scheduled in the evening, and it fits well with my work in Panama,” she said.
Carol explained how she thoroughly enjoyed the Professional English Class. “Recently, we learned about conflict resolution and navigating difficult conversations, which will be very useful for my work.”
Carol particularly appreciates the opportunity for mock role plays at the class, where they simulate challenging professional scenarios. “In the class, we learn from each other’s diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. I found this collaborative environment extremely valuable.”
Looking ahead, Carol aims to apply her enhanced language skills in her specialized field. “I want to elevate my language proficiency to a professional level, including presentations and pronunciations. I really appreciate the contribution of Alexandra to improving my professional English communication skills”
Additionally, Carol looks forward to revisiting Ann Arbor and MLC. “In Michigan, people were very kind and I liked the friendly atmosphere. Last time I visited Ann Arbor in winter, so I hope to visit in summer next time!”
